Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Welcome back to 2021/22 educational year. I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of the planned learning programme for Year 6, Autumn Term.

Cornerstones

Our topics are:

Blood Heart, Identity and Leadership and Peacekeepers The children will learn: Leadership and Peacekeepers

• Actively engage with a range of stimuli, and take opportunities to participate in enquiries, both collaboratively and independently.

• Use appropriate methods to gather information related to enquiries and interpret the information obtained in the context of the enquiry question. Persuasive Writing – Global/Community Issues

• Form, express and discuss their own opinions on a range of issues after considering evidence and the views of others.

• Present findings in a variety of ways, drawing conclusions and making judgements based on the evidence used. Identity

• Begin to understand that interpretations are influenced by identity, experiences, viewpoints and beliefs.

• Understand that injustice and inequality exist in societies. Also have an understanding of what human rights are and why they are important to themselves and other people.
